Bengal Regional Conference
The Bengal Regional Conference stands as a vibrant part of the Methodist Church in India, rooted in a rich history of spiritual growth and community service. From its early beginnings in the 19th century, the Conference has grown to encompass a network of churches, schools, and hospitals dedicated to spreading the message of Christ and uplifting lives across the region.
A Brief History
Bengal Regional Conference has a rich heritage dating back to 1873. Initially, the churches established by William Taylor were brought together under the “Bombay-Bengal Mission”. As the Church in India grew, so did the need for more organized administration.
In 1888, a significant milestone was achieved with the organization of the Bengal Annual Conference. This marked the beginning of a new era of growth and development for Methodism in Bengal.
Today, the Bengal Regional Conference continues to thrive, with a strong presence across the region. We are proud of our heritage and committed to spreading the message of hope and love to all who come into contact with us.
